&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Lemar&lt;/strong&gt; was most notably brought to public attention on the BBC&amp;#8217;s Fame Academy in 2002, a combination of a talent quest and reality television show. He made the finals of the show winning plaudits for his version of &amp;#8220;Let&amp;#8217;s Stay Together&amp;#8221; by Al Green and singing a duet with Lionel Richie on &amp;#8220;Easy&amp;#8221;. While he ended up finishing third in the show, which was won by David Sneddon, he caught the eye of fellow British soul singer Beverley Knight, who invited him to sing a duet with her during her concert at the Hammersmith Apollo. Sony Music was so impressed with his potential that they signed him to a five year record deal worth &#163;1 million. He was also the contestant from Fame Academy chosen to represent the UK in Eurobest, coming fifth (the eventual winner being Chenoa from Spain.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Lemar&amp;#8217;s second single &amp;#8220;Dance (With U)&amp;#8221; reached number two on the UK Singles Chart in early 2003. His first album Dedicated was released late in 2003 with additional singles &amp;#8220;50/50&amp;#8221; and &amp;#8220;Another Day&amp;#8221; also achieving chart success in the UK. Lemar won a &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;BRIT&lt;/span&gt; Award for &amp;#8220;Best Urban Act&amp;#8221; in 2004. Following the success of the album, he commenced his first headlining tour of the UK.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;On the 12 November 2004 Lemar guested on &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;BBC&lt;/span&gt; Radio 1&amp;#8217;s Live Lounge and performed a cover of U2&amp;#8217;s song &amp;#8220;Vertigo&amp;#8221;. He has also performed for Prince Charles&amp;#8217; Prince&amp;#8217;s Trust.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;He is also one of the many artists included on Band Aid 20&amp;#8217;s single &amp;#8220;Do They Know It&amp;#8217;s Christmas?&amp;#8221;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In February 2006, he won a second &lt;span class=&quot;caps&quot;&gt;BRIT&lt;/span&gt; Award for &amp;#8220;Best Urban Act&amp;#8221;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;4 September 2006 saw Lemar return with his eighth single, entitled &amp;#8220;It&amp;#8217;s Not That Easy&amp;#8221;, which became his sixth UK top ten hit. A week later his new album The Truth About Love was released, which saw guest appearances from Styles P from The L.O.X., Mica Paris and Joss Stone. The album became Lemar&amp;#8217;s highest charting album to date, peaking at number three on the UK Albums Chart, outpeaking Time to Grow (number eight) and Dedicated.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Lemar featured on Sway&amp;#8217;s first single &amp;#8220;Saturday Night Hustle&amp;#8221; from the album The Signature LP.[[Lemar&amp;#8217;s fourth studio album &amp;#8220;The Reason&amp;#8221; was released on 24 November 2008, entering the UK Albums Chart at no. 41. Lead single &amp;#8220;If She Knew&amp;#8221; was released on 10 November 2008 and has peaked on the UK Singles Chart at no. 14.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Lemar performed his new single &#8220;The Way Love Goes&#8221; on the BBC1 show &#8220;So You Think You Can Dance&#8221; on Saturday 9th January. The single released on Valentine&#8217;s Day and will be followed by his much anticipated greatest hits album on 1st March.&lt;/p&gt;
