The massive Diversity Dance Group are the street dance group best known for winning the third series of Britain’s Got Talent with their sheer injection of energy. Formed in 2007, the troupe are made up of members from East London and Essex and comprise three sets of brothers and four of their friends. Some are still at school or university but the older members include an IT systems engineer, a bathroom installer, and a telecoms engineer. The group, ranging in age from 13 to 25 during the filming of Britain’s Got Talent, are: Ashley Banjo, Jordan Banjo, Sam Craske, Mitchell Craske, Ian McNaughton, Jamie McNaughton, Matthew McNaughton, Perri Luc Kiely, Warren Russell, Ike Ezekwugo and Terry Smith. After winning the show, Diversity appeared on Larry King Live. They performed at the Wireless Festival in Hyde Park and appeared at T4 on the Beach on 19 July at Weston-super-Mare. They also appeared in the 3-D film StreetDance alongside fellow Britain’s Got Talent dance group Flawless and previous winner George Sampson, who is also appearing at the Manx Telecom Bay Festival Sunday afternoon show. The film is due to be released in late 2010. On 31 August they performed at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens in a Michael Jackson tribute. They were due to perform on the Michael Jackson come back tour in London which sadly never took place. Michael was apparently left “mesmerised” by Diversity after becoming a Britain’s Got Talent fan thanks to Susan Boyle. “Everyone knows Michael’s performances are as much about the dancing as they are his music and Diversity would only add to the magic,” the source told the Daily Mirror. Diversity have also performed in Covent Garden to launch the new Disney Channel Disney XD. They also performed outside 10 Downing Street in front of Prime Minister Gordon Brown. They are known for their burst of energy and seamless moves.
